Trail off While Hiking in Westlake Village

  • Bowfield Trail (4.1 miles, 9 minutes): Take in the beautiful scenery as you hike up one of Westlake’s most popular trails. Bowfield Hike is a great way to get exercise in while exploring California.
  • Chesebro Canyon (7.5 miles, 14 minutes): For over 150 years ranchers made these canyons their home. Stroll the gently rounded hills and view the cities you have left behind. (805) 370-2301
  • China Flats Trailhead (5.4 miles, 12 minutes): Hike this 5.5-mile loop trail near Oak Park and see beautiful flowers and green shrubbery.
  • Conejo Creek Bike Path (5 miles, 8 minutes): Bike this 1.2-mile path in Thousand Oaks that connects to Gainsborough Road for some great exercise.
  • Conejo Valley Botanical Gardens (6.2 miles, 10 minutes): Explore the Conejo Valley Botanical Garden to learn about native plant species. Spanning 33 acres, the gardens are maintained by volunteers and contain a rare fruit collection. (805) 494-7630
  • Gardens of the World (3.6 miles, 7 minutes): Take advantage of the cultural gardens donated to the people of Thousand Oaks. View the many gardens including the Japanese, French, Italian, or the English Perennial and Rose Garden all in one day. (805) 557-1135
  • Griffith Observatory: One of the most romantic places in L.A. overlooking the city from its lofty location, Griffith Observatory is as noted for its breathtaking city views as its fascinating programs. Inside, you may search for extraterrestrial life and discover the causes of earthquakes among dozens of other interesting things to do. A multi-media theater, planetarium, telescopes, and exhibits are all part of the Observatory.
  • The Hollywood Sign: An American icon, the Hollywood sign evokes glamour and glitz. Sitting on the side of Mount Lee, those famous Hollywood letters are visible from several Los Angeles vantage points, but one of the best is at Glen Holly and Beachwood Canyon drives.
  • Hollywood Walk of Fame: The stars of Hollywood are enshrined forever along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Take a stroll down this famous tribute to the greatest of entertainers of all time, and find your favorites’ pink and bronze stars along Hollywood and Vine. 
  • La Brea Tar Pits: The Rancho La Brea Tar Pits spark the imagination about the past, right in the middle of the city of Los Angeles. Famous for its well-preserved fossils of animals that lived thousands of years ago, the Tar Pits and the Page Museum include skeletons from animals like saber-tooth tigers, as well as fossils of ancient plants.
  • Paradise Falls Hike (8.2 miles, 14 minutes): This 40-foot waterfall located in lush canyon is worth the 2.5-mile hike. 
  • Underwood Family Farms (10.6 miles, 18 minutes): This local grown, California produce provides much more than grow fruits and vegetables.
